Meet Miesha
“I moved to Carson back in March of 2015 from California. As a divorcee and single mom of two young daughters, ages 5 and 7, I was completely lost. I found myself at the lowest point of my life. We had been homeless for nearly two years with no help or support from family or friends. Somehow we ended up at the Rand Motel here in Carson City. This would be our second time staying at the Rand and the tenth motel my children and I lived in.
One day, just a few short weeks of us staying back at the Rand, we received a flyer on our door that the Northern Nevada Dream Center would be serving a nice hot Sunday Dinner, free of charge. I was very excited because one, I love food, and two I didn’t have to worry about what my children and I would eat for the day. When the Dream Center finally came on Sunday, I was so eager to eat a nice good home cooked meal.
This was my first encounter with the Northern Nevada Dream Center. Since that day they have been so supportive and such a blessing to me and my daughters. For one, they have an awesome children’s ministry that provides a bus ride to church on Wednesdays and Sundays for children, as well as their parents or any other person who needs a ride to church.
When we were finally able to move out of the motel and into an apartment we had nothing, no bed, blankets or pillows to lay on. I was so blessed to have the Dream Center pull together and bless us with an abundance of household items. We were able to get some blankets, pillows and an air mattress so we didn’t have to worry about sleeping on the floor. Also, we received a sofa couch chair, dresser, bunk beds, a TV and TV stand, kitchen table, kitchen appliances, and bathroom accessories. My girls were even blessed with some new clothes for school. The Dream Center has definitely been a God sent ministry for me and my girls. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without their love and support. Thank you so much Dream Center!
